Focus groups

Our researchers can often be found up and down the country conducting focus groups for clients in the public sector and beyond. We recruit using our in-house field experts and use projective techniques during the group to explore issues on an emotional level.

Advanced analytics

Our specialist in-house advanced analytics team regularly design key drivers analyses, segmentations and conjoint exercises for our public sector clients. We also carry out more bespoke and complex analyses.

Neuro and biometric methods

As part of Walnut Unlimited, we have access to the latest neuro and biometric techniques. We see our role as pioneering their use in social research.

Omnibus Surveys

Twice a week we speak to 2,000 British people aged 16+. 72 hours later your answer will be ready.

Face-to-face surveys

We routinely carry out robust in-home face-to-face sampling for projects where the highest-quality data is required, or where we need to reach groups unavailable by telephone or online. Our field-force is spread across Great Britain and Northern Ireland and all have been trained to the same high standards.

Telephone surveys

Our in-house call centre based in Bedford has almost 100 fully web-enabled stations and operate a high supervisor to interviewer ratio. Having pioneered telephone research in the UK, we find telephone research endures as uniquely placed to research certain audiences and topics.

Online surveys

We have been collecting data via online surveys since 2006, and since then have been at the forefront of delivering high-quality online research to stakeholders across the public and third sector.

Depth interviews

Our expert moderators regularly carry out one-to-one interviews with people to understand personal views on social issues. We use this method to speak to professionals, hard-to-reach audiences and often when the subject matter is sensitive.

Online Communities

A creative platform where we get recruit people to be part of a community for several days and answer questions, carry out tasks and upload images and videos. The board is expertly moderated by the qualitative team to delve deeper with participants.

Deliberative research

This effective approach is used to bring together the opinions of both the audience and stakeholders by facilitating a two-way discussion. We design engaging workshops to explore complex issues and reach formulated solutions, while ensuring the voices of all groups are heard.

Ethnographic research

We understand people in their environment. An experienced qualitative researcher immerses themselves in the participant’s life to better understand them, their behaviour and experiences whilst capturing key moments on camera to bring their story to life.
